In the beginning of the Southwest civilization, there were humans and wolves. The first humans wore the simplest of clothes, used the simplest weapons and tools, and played with the simplest toys. Soon, that civilization faded. Only the wolves remained in plain sight.
Up north in the plains, similar humans with thicker clothes resided in tents known as teepees. They hunted with dogs and never stayed in one place for long.
Back south, new humans migrated. These humans wore odd outfits, including spikes on their boots, large hats, and massive dresses. They carried weapons known as guns, and used metal swords and knives more often. The humans who long resided in the plains and the frontier approached them, hoping to make peace. Often, the new humans agreed. Sometimes, the new humans disagreed and shot the natives. We, the wolves, refer to them as two clans: the Settlers and the Natives.
Peace lingered in the Southwest for a bit. However, massive changes were being made. The Natives were driven from their lands. The Settlers, greedy and hungry for gold and earth's precious minerals, never found what they desired and journeyed elsewhere, leaving abandoned small towns and large camps in their tracks. We, the wolves, remained.
Now, centuries later, the humans encourage us to wander into the Southwest, into what seems like the frontier the old humans walked about in. Some of our wolves came from the forests near larger towns and cities. Others came from the natives' lands. We decide to name ourselves based off of our origins. We are the new Settlers and Natives. We are the new clans.
The humans give us a name: Project Frontier Wolves. We, the wolves, now know our true name. We are not just some form of a wolf pack. We are not just wolves. We are the Frontier Wolves.
